Get to know our teachers at Christian Home Academy. Our staff comprises passionate and experienced educators.

Katie Cumberledge, High School
Katie has been working at CHA since 2015. She worked as a peer tutor for students with special needs students in high school. Katie started at CHA as a tutor and transitioned into the classroom as a teacher. Her youngest brother has autism, and Katie has played a key role in helping him achieve his goals. She is a devoted Christian woman with a great zeal for helping children, particularly those with special needs. We are excited to have Katie as a member of our teaching staff.

Brandis Cuevas, High School
Brandis has been teaching at CHA since 2021 and has worked with the ACE program since 2017. She started with us as a tutor with a strong background in algebra. Brandis has 13 years of dental and management skills under her belt, but her true calling is teaching high school. She is passionate in her walk with the Lord. We are very proud to have Brandis at our school.

Brinda Henderson, High School
Brinda has been working at CHA since 2012. Prior to coming to our school, she worked as a public school teacher. She transitioned from the public school to the private school system and has over 20 years of teaching experience. Brinda has a strong Christian faith and shares it with all of her students. We are very happy to have Brinda at CHA.

Christopher Stover, Junior High School
Christopher has been a full-time teacher at CHA since 2013. He worked as a board-certified behavior technician at Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics for three years. Christopher has worked in ministry for over 10 years, and we are extremely pleased to have him in our high school department. Christopher is also a 1st-degree black belt in our karate ministry.

Christina Eaton, Elementary and Junior High School
Christina has been working at CHA since 2021. She worked as a tutor with a skill set in dyslexia and in working with students on the autism spectrum. Christina quickly transitioned into the classroom as a teacher due to student educational successes and strong organizational skills. She has studied in the ACE curriculum since 2014 and is currently RBT certified, having studied behavioral therapy. We are excited to have Christina as a member of our teaching staff.

Brooke Cook, Elementary School
Brooke has been with CHA since 2018. She was hired as a tutor and transitioned to the classroom as an elementary teacher in 2019 due to her strong English and math skills. Brooke was involved in youth ministries for several years before the birth of her son. Brooke’s son has special medical needs; therefore, she has taken a temporary leave of absence from youth ministry to care for him. Brooke is an asset to CHA, and we are pleased to have her on our staff.

Cheryl Doroski, Kindergarten/Elementary School
Cheryl has been teaching at CHA since 2007. She has taught elementary children as a Missionettes teacher for four years. Prior to working at CHA, she worked as a teacher for special needs students in New York State. She is an established artist and is our art teacher here at CHA. Cheryl is a 1st-degree black belt in our karate ministry. We are very blessed to have Cheryl on our staff.

Melissa Eaton, Elementary School
Melissa has worked at CHA since 2022. She has been involved with the ACE program since 2014. Melissa worked with children in dance and various church and school programs over the last 20 years. She has a strong background in medical and banking, from technology to management. Melissa has returned to her passion for working with children, and we are blessed to have her as a teacher at CHA.

Wendy Johnston, Elementary School
Wendy is a graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville, FL, with two degrees. Wendy has worked in physical therapy for approximately nine years. She has also worked as a Christian youth leader for almost 10 years with junior and senior high school students. Wendy originally started at CHA as a tutor in 2020 and is now one of our elementary teachers. She is a great asset to our school.

Mikayla Olsen, Elementary School
Mikayla became a teacher in 2022 with a skill set as a children’s event coordinator and academic planner. She has a strong background in working with children and adults with special needs, as well as coordinating Smile Camp. Mikayla is a devoted Christian and has worked in children’s ministries since 2018. She has been a true blessing here at CHA.
