Our History
CHA began as a Christian mission organization in 2001. The primary purpose at that time was to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through education. During the early years, CHA provided an organizational umbrella for homeschool families in need of guidance, curriculum, and testing services.
By 2007, the need became obvious for full-time students to attend school in person and benefit from the special attention that can only be provided by a smaller, private Christian school. In August 2007, the school had grown to 46 full-time students and established a physical location at the current campus, located at 1241 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32065. The school expects approximately 75 students for the 2026-2027 school year.
Gary and Lynne Lenzi purchased the school in May 2009 after a long association with it.
Our Approach
CHA’s unique approach to educating children is demonstrated in our school-parent agreement, signed by the school and each parent.
It is as follows:
- I understand that the school is an integral part of child training, which I am expected to support.
- I hereby commit to ensuring that my children always witness my full support of school policy and discipline, and that if I have an issue with anything related to the school, my children will not be aware of it.
- I will bring my issue to the school principal for discussion behind closed doors, and my child will not be aware of any disagreement with the school.
- I will ensure that my children understand that the school and the parents are a unified force for the betterment of the child and to the Glory of God.
- I appreciate the high standards of the school and will not tolerate profanity, obscenity in word or action, dishonor to God or the Word of God, or disrespect toward the school staff.
- I hereby agree to support the regulations of the school and authorize the school to employ discipline as it deems wise and expedient for the training of my child.
- I understand that the school reserves the right, after a parental conference, to dismiss any child who fails to comply with established regulations and discipline or whose parents do not assume their responsibilities to the school.
I agree to complete parent orientation and understand and agree to the terms stated in this application.
Accreditation
As a school inspected and designated “Quality Status” by Accelerated Christian Education, students are able to earn an accredited high school diploma and participate in dual enrollment with St. Johns River State College (SJRSC) as highschool student attending CHA. CHA has completed an articulation agreement with SJRSC for dual enrollment, which has been in place since 2010. ACE’s distance learning provider is Lighthouse Christian Academy in Hendersonville, TN. For any of our high school students, the diploma can be earned at CHA and is accredited by CITA and SACS.
Florida Bright Futures Scholarships
In 1997, the Florida Legislature created the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. This Florida Lottery-funded scholarship rewards students for their academic achievements during high school by providing funding for them to pursue post-secondary educational and career goals in Florida. CHA assists juniors and seniors with the acquisition of Bright Futures Scholarships and dual enrollment with local state colleges. For more information, call (904) 276-3339.
